Instructor Julie

Julie is the founder of Vertical Vixen®, co-founder of the Pole Sports Federation of South Africa and owner of the brand Aerial Yoga.

Julie started her career in fitness in 2005. On returning from the UK she signed up for pole dance and Bikram yoga classes hoping to shed some unwanted weight gained during her travels. 8 Years later, she is still hooked. She found her passion in pole dance, yoga, and aerial acrobatics. In 2011 Julie decided to turn her passion into a full time endeavour.

She recently took 1st place in the Pole Classique division of Pole Theatre South Africa 2015. Prior to that she placed 2nd in the Miss Pole Dance SA Professional Division 2012, won the title of Miss Trixter and the Duets title with pole partner Alicja Gralewska. She took a break from competing in 2011 but prior to that she had won the title of Pole Dance Champion 2010, Pole Dance Champion 2008 - 2nd Place and Miss Pole Dance 2007, 2nd Place.

Julie and pole partner Alicja were placed in the Top 100 for SA’s Got Talent 2012 and the dynamic duo placed 4th in the World Pole Sport Championships in July 2013 – a most notable achievement considering the quality of competition.

Julie is committed to sharing her passion for dance with her students, and states  that her most satisfying moments as an instructor include watching the transformation her students undergo as they become more confident, more self assured and happier within their bodies.

Meghann Burger

18-VerticalVixen-023HR consultant by day, Pole Trainer by night.

Meghann fell in love with pole almost 3 ½ years ago, and being a trainer has makes her love for the sport grow more and more after each class.
For Meghann, being a trainer is more than just training clients for an hour, its seeing her class and each individual become more comfortable with their bodies and start believing that they can push themselves harder than they ever thought was possible.  Pole is about the family of friends we make, the support you get after every new trick you learn and the motivation to endure.

Meghann has participated in two Pole Unity events, performed at the Vertical Vixen Showcases and completed her Beginners and Intermediate Pole training.
